Student Grants & Fellowships

Vertical photo strip_updated_2.jpg

CLAS awards grants to graduate students in support of preliminary field research (for site assessment, data collection, archival research, and the establishment of professional/institutional contacts) and teaching assistantships in selected Latin American content courses. Our students have enjoyed unparalleled success leveraging summer Tinker Field Research and FLAS grants to win major external fellowship support such as the prestigious Fulbright-Hays and Fulbright-IIE fellowships.

CLAS BA students have been quite successful in applications to the International Experience Grant program as well as to the International Travel Grant Program. Students who are preparing proposals or projects are encouraged to reach out to the CLAS Student Affairs Coordinator for support.

Open to undergraduate and graduate students,  the Vistas photography exhibition and competition highlights the importance of our undergraduate and graduate student experiences across Latin America and the Caribbean. Annual winners are printed and mounted for display in the CLAS seminar room, Kelly 114. There is a cash prize for best in show. Read more about the 2016 winning entries here.
