The Center for Latin American Studies launched the Corporate Partners program in 2007 to provide an important corporate partnership opportunity in support of our popular Latin American Briefing Series. Corporate Partners help create important opportunities for innovative scholarship and public education through the Center's Latin American Briefing Program. Our highly successful public education program, the Latin American Briefings Series, brings academic and policy experts and influential business and political leaders together at the University of Chicago to address important contemporary issues in Latin America. The Briefing Series provides freely-accessible university-level public education on contemporary affairs in Latin America.

Although a relatively young program, our Latin American Briefing Series has already generated enormous interest and garnered international acclaim. Recent panelist Alejandro Bendaña, international consultant on peacebuilding and former Nicaraguan Ambassador to the United Nations, had this to say about our Latin American Briefing Series:

"Many thanks for the thoughtful analysis by Larry Birns at the spring 2006 Latin American Briefing series on 'Latin American Elections: Turning Left?'. It was highly appreciated by this Latin American who watched the event on my iPod while working in Aceh, Indonesia."

A recent article on university podcasts in Wired Magazine ranked our online Latin American Briefing Series archive as one of the top five education podcasts in the country and described it as "better than an internship at the United Nations."
