Salikoko Mufwene (Linguistics) and Stephan Palmié (Anthropology) are among a group of 23 faculty who have been honored with named and distinguished service professorships.

Mufwene has been named the Edward Carson Waller Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Linguistics and the College. Palmié (Anthropology) has been named Norman & Edna Freehling Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the College.
