ABOUT THE CLAS TINKER FIELD RESEARCH GRANT
The CLAS Tinker Field Research Grant supports master's, doctoral, and professional school students conducting pre-dissertation fieldwork in Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries of the Western Hemisphere, excluding Puerto Rico. The grants provide an opportunity to establish professional and institutional contacts, assess potential research sites, and refine dissertation project proposals. Recipients of the CLAS Tinker Field Research Grant have enjoyed notable success in obtaining subsequent dissertation research support as well as placement in key teaching, research, and other professional positions.
This program is funded with the generous support of the Tinker Foundation.

CLAS TINKER FIELD RESEARCH GRANT COLLOQUIUM |
Award recipients are required to present their findings at an academic and/or community venue within nine months of their return from the field. While recipients may present at any number of conferences or campus workshops, CLAS hosts a yearly colloquium to help satisfy this requirement. The colloquium, which may be scheduled in multiple sessions during the Winter and Spring Quarters, groups presentations into themes and encourages students to deliver a short lecture accompanied by a digital presentation (10 minutes) followed by a question and answer session. |
