Brodwyn Fischer, Professor of Latin American History at The University of Chicago, and 2022–2023 Frieda L. Miller Fellow, presented her book-in-progress Intimate Inequalities: Urbanism, Slavery, and Bounded Freedom in a Brazilian City at The Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University. The book focuses on Recife, Brazil, and explores the historical co-evolution of urbanism and informality.
